Melanie Leach and Andrew Mackenzie
Joint CEOs
Prior to founding South Shore, Melanie was the CEO of the Twofour Group alongside Andrew as the Chief Creative Officer.
Together they grew a regional production company into one of the largest and most admired production groups in the UK with an annual turnover in excess of £50m across factual, drama and comedy.
Under their tenure, Twofour was twice awarded Broadcast’s prestigious Indie of the Year and was voted number 1 in the Broadcast Peer Poll. They led a team which devised and delivered hit series across multiple genres and all major UK channels. From BBC One’s highest rated unscripted series The Real Marigold Hotel to the multi award winning Channel 4 documentary series Educating…; From Channel 4’s The Jump to ITV’s global format This Time Next Year and Channel 5’s longest running series The Hotel Inspector. Their portfolio of programmes was multi-award winning in the UK and internationally, including an Emmy, a BAFTA, 5 Royal Television Society Awards, 3 Grierson Awards and 6 Broadcast Awards.
At the end of 2019, following completion of the company’s sale to ITV, Melanie and Andrew set up South Shore – a brand new independent company – with key members of the Twofour management and development team.
Their aim is to produce entertaining and award-winning shows for the UK, US and international markets.
